Dentures and Partial Dentures

Dentures and partial dentures (partials) are replacement teeth on a gum-colored base. Denture Care

Dentures are a worthwhile investment in your appearance and health. As such, you should take great care not to break or damage them. Here are some helpful tips for home denture care:

• Clean your dentures every day. Use room temperature water (hot water can warp the denture) and a dentist-approved denture cleanser.
• Handle your dentures over a sink full of water or a towel. A drop of a few inches can damage your dentures.
• Soak your dentures overnight in a cleanser. If your dentures dry out they may change shape and become ill-fitting.

Denture Repair

Accidents do happen, and we’re here to help. The most common forms of denture damage are chips and breaks. If the damage is minor, Dr. Curtis can often repair the denture at our Bridgeport, Trumbull dental office in a single day. Do NOT attempt to repair your denture yourself. At-home repair kits contain bonding agents that are not medical grade. You could end up doing more damage to your denture that will require additional time and money to fix.
